In an effort to save rhinos from extinction, some are dying their horns pink to render them useless to poachers. This is harmless to the animals, and may just save some. Every day, 3 rhinos are killed, and are critically endangered. Please support organizations like Ol Petjeta Conserancy, Lewa Wildlife Conservancy, and others who fight tirelessly to save them. A portion of the sale of this painting will go to these deserving organizations.

I am a Mr. Robot fan, and find Elliot's character heartbreaking. His world is a living hell, and we are left to wonder how much is real, and how much is self-created. I may do more of this series, but for now I'm setting it aside for happier paintings!
I have a heavy heart when I read/see the news lately. There is so much brutality in the world; not new, but with real-time exposure on the web, we are witnessing the underbelly of our culture. There is no place for evil to hide anymore, which is a great thing. Still, as a "sensitive viewer" it's hard to take. I sign petitions, make donations when I can afford to, and paint what I feel.
Here are the first two of this series: Crying Game in Blue, and Crying Game in Red. Both are 10" x 8," oil on linen. They will be available at East Austin Studio Tour in November. Crying Game in Blue sold at the Due East show on opening night. Portrait of the incredible Marc Ching and one of the many dogs he rescued from the dog meat trade in Asia. This is his 9th heartbreaking trip to bear witness and shut down slaughterhouses, where unbelievable cruelty takes place. Marc heads up The Compassion Project under Animal Hope and Wellness Foundation, and will be testifying before Congress on Wednesday, Sept. 14. Please give them a follow, make a donation, and keep them in your prayers.
I am donating 100% (after taxes) of the sale of this portrait to this deserving organization. If you are interested, please message me. Thanks! Together, we can make a difference! 10" x 10" on linen |
